US has signed a trade deal with China: Trump

The United States has signed a trade agreement with China and intends to conclude a similar agreement with India. About this stated US President Donald Trump during a speech at the White House.

“We just signed an agreement with China,” Trump said.

He also noted that the US plans to sign a similar agreement with India. At the same time, Trump emphasized that the United States will not necessarily negotiate with all countries. Some of them will just get the message:

“Now you’re paying 25-45% duty. It’s an easy way to do it. But my people don’t want to do it that way. They want to do more deals than I would.” he added.

It will be recalled that at the beginning of April, Donald Trump introduced tariffs on the import of products from most of the countries that are trading partners of the United States. Tariffs ranged from 10% to 49%. However, already on April 9, the president decided to temporarily suspend these tariffs for 90 days. During this time, Washington intended to negotiate with each country separately and conclude bilateral agreements.

The greatest aggravation in trade policy occurred between the USA and China. Both sides raised tariffs on each other several times, until they reached 145% on the US side and 125% on the Chinese side.

Subsequently, the countries began negotiations on a separate trade agreement. At the end of May, it was reported that the negotiation process had become complicated and required the direct participation of Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. As part of the agreement, Beijing lifted a number of restrictions on the export of rare earth metals and agreed to supply rare earth minerals and magnets to the United States.
