Volunteers of the “Ukrainian Legion” in Poland swore allegiance to the Ukrainian people

The first group of volunteers from the “Ukrainian Legion” took a military oath of loyalty to the Ukrainian people. This solemn event took place on the territory of the training center of the Armed Forces of Poland. By information of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, taking the oath is a defining event for every serviceman, as it symbolizes his dedication to the defense of the country and readiness for service.
The representative of the command of the legion, Petro Horkusha, emphasized that these volunteers joined the unit knowingly, feeling a personal responsibility for the defense of Ukraine. For these warriors, the decision to serve in the Legion is a matter of honor and a personal choice dictated by patriotic convictions and determination to fight against aggression.
“Taking the oath is one of the most important and solemn events in the life of a serviceman. For legion volunteers, this moment is special, because their decision to stand up for the defense of Ukraine is conscious and decisive. The unit is formed from highly motivated soldiers, for whom protecting the Motherland from the aggressor is a matter of honor.” , Petro Horkusha emphasized.
After taking the oath, the recruits began an intensive course of military training. The training program includes fire training (in particular elements of CQB — Close-quarters battle), topography and other necessary disciplines, which are critical for urban combat and in close encounters with the enemy. At the same time, a lot of attention is paid to the study of tactical medicine, which teaches them to quickly provide help on the battlefield, in particular under fire.
The curriculum also includes mine safety courses, which equip you with knowledge about the types of explosive devices and how to protect against them, as well as topography, which allows you to navigate the terrain without navigation devices.
The entire training process takes place under the guidance of experienced Polish instructors who pass on their knowledge and skills honed over years of service to Ukrainian volunteers. Such intensive training is designed to prepare new recruits to perform tasks in difficult conditions and provide them with everything necessary for the effective defense of Ukraine.
