The government does not plan to increase state aid to immigrants for 2025: Shmyhal

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that the government does not plan to increase the amount of state aid for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in 2025. He stated this during the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada.
“For 2025, the Ministry of Finance has not yet planned an increase in state support for IDPs, but this year’s volume is sufficient”, he noted.
According to Shmyhal, as of September 1, 2024, more than 1.2 million displaced persons continue to receive state assistance. At the same time, the government is working on launching a pilot project that provides subsidies for IDPs in nine frontline regions. Subsidies will be aimed at partial or full payment of housing rent, which should ease the financial burden on displaced persons.
The prime minister also emphasized that vulnerable categories of migrants, such as pensioners, people with disabilities and orphans, will continue to receive payments in the amount of 2-3 thousand hryvnias in 2025.
The government previously extended payments to displaced people beyond September 1, 2024. These payments provide support for at least half a year for the most vulnerable categories of the population. Currently, adult migrants receive 2,000 hryvnias, and children – 3,000 hryvnias per month. We would like to remind you that since March 2024, the assistance mechanism has been changed: now payments are provided only to the most vulnerable categories of IDPs.
