The head of the “Voice” faction, Oleksandra Ustinova, expressed concern about the “soft” legislation, which concerns the crossing of the border by men who face legal punishment for evading mobilization in Ukraine.
On the air of the YouTube program “There is a question” Ustinov noted, that a significant number of Ukrainians illegally cross the border due to weak punishment, which currently involves administrative responsibility for such actions.
“Yesterday, the issue of evaders – people who flee abroad was considered. We actually have a huge problem now. The law enforcement officers complained and gave statistics that out of 183 court verdicts passed, only 11 verdicts where people were actually sentenced to prison terms”, – said Ustinova.
At the same time, it should be noted that according to declaration Ustinova herself, her husband Oleksii Yatsyuk bought a house with an area of 321 square meters in the USA. m, a land plot of 697 square meters. m and a new Mazda CX-5 car. The purchase of the property took place on March 29, 2022, which indicates that Yatsyuk was in the United States after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
In addition, on August 23, 2024, it became known about the flight of People’s Deputy Artem Dmytruk abroad. After he crossed the border, the General Prosecutor’s Office declared him a suspect. According to Tetyana Sapyan, adviser on strategic communications of the SBI, at the time of Dmytrouk’s escape, the investigators had no legal grounds for his detention. Currently, the General Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the circumstances that allowed the deputy to leave the country.
