Zelensky commented on Trump’s statements about the end of the war and answered why the Armed Forces of Ukraine lacks ammunition

The US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, has repeatedly expressed confidence that he is capable of ending the war in Ukraine, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi perceives such statements as pre-election rhetoric. IN interview with CNN journalist Farid Zakaria, Zelensky emphasized that some of these promises look unrealistic.
“I can’t understand it today, because I don’t know the details of what Donald Trump means and what it means. So I think the messages can worry us, all our people, of course.” – emphasized the president.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine emphasized the acute shortage of ammunition, despite the supply of military aid from the United States and Europe. Zelenskyy explained that the significant needs of the Ukrainian army and slow supplies create critical difficulties.
“We need to prepare 14 brigades. At this time, we have not equipped even four of this package of brigades… We need too many”, – explained Zelensky.
Due to such challenges, Ukraine is forced to develop the domestic production of drones, but even this is still not enough to meet all the needs of the army.
Zelensky also drew attention to the consequences of the eight-month delay in the approval of new military aid packages by the US Congress. During this time, according to the president, Ukraine used up all available reserves.
“What did we do during these eight months? We used everything we could. We have transferred what we have in the reserves and what we have in the warehouses or in the reserve brigades that we need now. We took everything they had – all their weapons.”, – explained Zelensky.
