Zelensky in the USA held meetings with a number of world leaders: details

During his visit to the USA, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a series of important meetings with the leaders of several countries aimed at strengthening international support for Ukraine.

As reported on page of the president on the X social network, Zelensky met with the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the President of Paraguay Santiago Peña.

At the meeting with Fumio Kishida, the main focus was on the restoration of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling, as well as preparations for the winter period. Zelensky thanked Japan for the new energy aid package that is currently being prepared.

Talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held for the third time this year, focused on boosting cooperation within international organizations such as the UN and the G20. The issues of implementing the Peace Formula and preparing for the second Peace Summit were discussed. Zelenskyi emphasized the importance of India’s involvement in solving key international security issues.

The President of Ukraine also met with the President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña. During the negotiations, Zelensky informed his colleague about the security challenges facing Ukraine and the results of the first Peace Summit. He emphasized that Ukraine seeks to end the war as soon as possible and restore a just peace, and the support of Latin American countries is important in this process.

In addition to meetings with foreign leaders, Zelensky held talks with a bipartisan delegation of the US Congress, which included Senators Ben Cardin, Dan Sullivan, Christopher Murphy and Congressman Gregory Meeks. The president informed American lawmakers about the current situation at the front and outlined the main challenges that Ukraine may face next year. He emphasized the importance of continued US support to ensure security and stability in the region.
