“Zelensky’s thousand” will be taken away from Ukrainians abroad: Shmyhal’s statement

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated, that the authorities will conduct an audit of payments under the “Winter is Support” program. If it is established that the aid was issued outside of Ukraine, it will have to be returned.
“There may be a minimal number of people who will abuse it. But we will publish these things after that, and such people, as it has happened in the past, will refund their money. Therefore, we recommend that you do not abuse these things.”, – emphasized Shmyhal.
He emphasized that the program is available only to citizens who are in Ukraine. According to the Prime Minister, first the participants of the program declare their whereabouts, and later a check is carried out using registers, geolocation and other technical tools.
The “Winter is Support” program started on December 1. It provides for a one-time payment of 1,000 hryvnias for Ukrainians who are on the territory of the country, with the exception of the occupied territories. Payment is available for both adults and children. Registration will last until February 28, 2025, and funds can be used until December 31, 2025.
