Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham stated, that after the disruption of the signing of the subsoil agreement between Ukraine and the USA, as well as the dispute between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Donald Trump, it is possible to restore the agreement only if the Ukrainian negotiator is changed.
“Zelensky must either resign, or send someone with whom you can do business, or he must change.” – noted the senator.
He said that he had met with Zelensky that morning and warned him “not to be baited.” However, according to the senator, the behavior of the President of Ukraine in the Oval Office was “disrespectful”, which makes cooperation with him impossible. Graham is also convinced that Americans will perceive the manner in which Zelensky opposed Trump as “out of bounds”.
“I think Ukraine and America are important, but I don’t know if Zelensky can reach an agreement with the US after what happened. What President Trump said, he was shocked.
We told Zelensky that we would discuss security guarantees and the rest, and it would be a $500 billion deal, it would be a deal that Trump would be proud of, but Zelensky behaved terribly at the meeting, and I think it is almost impossible to convince the American people that he is a good business partner.” – concluded Lindsey Graham.
