Zelenskyy announced Ukraine’s readiness for a truce from May 7, but for 30 days

Ukraine has declared its readiness for a ceasefire with Russia, but insists on a 30-day truce within the framework of the strategy proposed by the United States. About this stated President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“The unconditional ceasefire is the model proposed by the Americans. We are following it. From this date or from another, preferably earlier. Yes, let’s try for 30 days. Why a 30-day ceasefire? Because it is impossible to agree on anything in three, five, seven days.” – said the president.

Zelensky criticized the three-day “truce” announced by Vladimir Putin, scheduled for May 7-10, calling it a “theatrical production.” He emphasized that such a short term does not allow for the formation of any real plan for the end of the war.

“Playing in order to give Putin a soft atmosphere to come out of isolation on May 9, and for everyone to be comfortable and safe – those leaders, or friends, or partners of Putin who will come, for one reason or another, to Kremlin Square on May 9 – no one will help Putin. We are simply either in a war, or Putin shows that he is ready for a ceasefire, for the first part of the end of the war. We are ready to start from the 1st, from On the 3rd, from the 5th. If he needs a date on the 7th, it doesn’t matter to us from the 7th – 30 days., – emphasized Zelensky.

He also noted that achieving a real ceasefire is impossible without systematic and high-quality monitoring of silence.

We will remind that on April 28, Vladimir Putin announced the so-called “truce” from May 7 to 10 on the occasion of “Victory Day”, which is celebrated in Russia on May 9.
