President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi introduced restrictive measures are in effect against five Chinese companies that supplied components for the Shahed attack drones used by Russia during the attack on Kyiv on July 4. The President approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated July 8, 2025 “On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)”.
Vladyslav Vlasyuk, an adviser to the President of Ukraine on sanctions policy, explained that during the massive attack on Kyiv on the night of July 4, Chinese components were found in downed Shahed drones:
“Today, sanctions have been introduced against these supplier companies.”
In particular, the companies NingboBLIN Machinery Co., Ltd and Suzhou ECOD Precision Manufacturing, which in 2024 and 2025 supplied their products to Russian enterprises under sanctions, fell under the restrictions. In addition, sanctions have been imposed on Shenzhen JinduobangTechnology Co., Ltd; Shenzhen Royo Technology Co., Ltd; and Central Asia Silk Road International Trade (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
“Ukraine is working with partners from the sanctions coalition to further introduce restrictions against Chinese manufacturers”Vlasyuk added.
Sanctions include the blocking of assets — temporary deprivation of the right to use and dispose of them. The list of measures also includes restrictions on trading activities (complete suspension), prohibition or restriction of transit of resources, air flights and transportation through the territory of Ukraine (complete suspension), prevention of withdrawal of capital abroad, suspension of economic and financial obligations.
In addition, it refers to the termination or suspension of licenses and other permits necessary for the implementation of certain types of activities, including special permits for the use of subsoil, as well as the prohibition of participation in privatization processes. The validity period of the sanctions is set for ten years.
