Zelenskyy instructed the security forces to focus on finding funds withdrawn from Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi commissioned heads of law enforcement structures to pay special attention to the search for Ukrainian funds that were taken outside the country.

“In particular, today I want to thank the Ukrainian prosecutors and investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine, who are dealing with the case of the embezzlement of the assets of the Ukrainian state company Motor Sich and the sale of Ukrainian weapons to Russia. One of the suspects was detained in Monaco, and it is important that this is a signal abroad, they will not hide.” – Zelensky emphasized in his evening address.

According to him, he instructed the heads of law enforcement agencies to pay special attention to such cases and the search for appropriated Ukrainian funds that were taken abroad.

We will remind you that on May 2, the SBU together with the General Prosecutor’s Office exposed a scheme of large-scale embezzlement of the assets of Motor Sich joint-stock company. The security service, the prosecutor’s office of Ukraine, as well as the law enforcement agencies of Monaco and France detained in Monaco the son of the former president of the company, who, together with his father, is suspected of withdrawing funds from the state defense enterprise.

Case materials indicate that the detainee, even before the start of the full-scale invasion, assisted his father in acquiring a controlling stake in a state-owned enterprise, after which these shares were sold to third parties for $650 million. The investigation believes that in order to carry out this arrangement, the then head of “Motor Sichi” Vyacheslav Boguslaev initiated an inventory of the company’s assets, as a result of which the value of the shares was artificially understated.
