The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed draft law No. 12150, which became the final step for Ukraine to join the European roaming space Roam like at home (RLAH). About what reported The National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and the Provision of Postal Services (NKEK).
“Ukraine is taking another step on the way to joining Roam-Like-At-Home (RLAH). President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Implementation of European Union Legislation on Electronic Communications” (No. 12150)”. – the message says.
Thanks to this document, Ukraine completed the necessary legislative steps that bring Ukrainian law closer to the EU norms in the field of roaming. Law No. 12150, together with the previously adopted law “On Roaming” and normative legal acts of NKEK, forms the basis for the implementation of European standards.
The next stage will be the submission of documents to the European Commission for official legal evaluation. If the conclusion is positive, the EC will start the process of making a decision on granting Ukraine the internal market regime for roaming.
“We are proud of the roaming team of NKEK and continue to work further so that Ukraine will be able to obtain the regime of the EU internal market for roaming already this year.” – noted in the commission.
We will remind you that on April 15, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 12150. After its signing, the European Commission will be able to complete the assessment of Ukrainian legislation. The corresponding notification was submitted to the EC on November 7, 2024.
