125 dairy farms are being built and modernized in Ukraine

Milk production in Ukraine does not stop, but gradually moves from the eastern regions to the central and western regions. Currently, 125 dairy farms are being built and modernized in the country. About this reported Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaly Koval.
He believes that the endurance of the dairy business is an example for the entire economy, and the efficient distribution of profits between producers, processors and retailers is not only a question of economics, but also of trust.
“Only the synergy between all participants can give the effect of scale that will enable the creation of added value both in the country and for export.” Koval noted.
In his opinion, pricing is the key to fairness in the production chain. He also called for a transition from raw materials to the manufacture of finished products.
“A ton of Ukrainian agricultural exports costs an average of 291 euros. For comparison, it is 1,536 euros in the EU. This is the difference between the raw material economy and the economy of added value. Our task is to ensure that the share of animal husbandry and processing reaches more than 50% in the agricultural sector.” – added the minister.
The minister said that the “5-7-9” preferential lending program remains valid, and the state will continue to support investors in the processing sector. In 2025, it is also planned to launch a mechanism for partial compensation of costs for the construction and modernization of livestock complexes.
