The elevator first went down to the first floor, then it suddenly moved up, broke through the roof on the 28th floor and shattered.

In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, on Srybnokilska Street, in a multi-story residential building, an extraordinary event took place with an elevator, which caused a significant response among residents and in social networks. writes Telegram channel “Real Kyiv”.

The elevator in the fourth entrance of building No. 1, which was moving at high speed, suddenly broke through the roof on the 28th floor, and its debris fell down, causing significant property damage.

According to preliminary data, the incident occurred at the moment when the elevator, descending to the first floor, let people out. After that, it suddenly moved upwards with great speed, broke through the roof of the upper floor and shattered. The wreckage of the cabin fell down, causing significant material damage to the residents of the building.

Eyewitnesses reported that the sound of the impact was so loud that it was heard not only by residents of this entrance, but also of neighboring houses. They also noted that such problems with the elevator had occurred before, but so far had not had such serious consequences.

The photos published on social networks show that the elevator cabin has suffered significant damage. Parts of the roof and fragments of the cabin are scattered on the floor, and the entrance itself shows traces of a strong impact.

Residents of the building express serious concern about the condition of the elevator equipment and demand an urgent inspection of all elevators in the building. Some of them declare their intention to apply to the relevant services with the demand to prosecute those responsible for the maintenance of the elevators.
