Sybiha met with Szijjártó and agreed on further contacts
Andriy Sybiga, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine spent a meeting with the head of the Foreign Ministry of Hungary, Peter Szijarto, on April 4 in Brussels. The parties agreed on the further development of contacts between Ukraine and Hungary.
“I met with Peter Szijarto to discuss our bilateral agenda and confirm Ukraine’s interest in maintaining a constructive dialogue with Hungary,” – said Sybiga on the network Kh.
According to him, during the meeting with Sijarto, options for solving problematic moments in relations between the states were discussed. He emphasized Ukraine’s desire to remain open to dialogue with the Hungarian side. The ministers agreed to hold the next round of consultations as early as next week.
“As two neighbors, both our peoples deserve reliable peace, security and development,” – added the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Before this meeting, Peter Siyarto announced that the preliminary talks scheduled for last week did not take place – according to him, the Ukrainian side canceled them. Andrii Sybiga confirmed that the meeting with Siyarto was planned. Before that, the ministers already had a conversation on March 18 during the Raisina Dialogue conference in New Delhi.
