An innovative dome for construction has appeared in China, which minimizes noise and harm to citizens (video)
In the city of Jinan, in eastern China, local authorities implemented an unusual engineering solution — a giant dome was installed over the construction site of a new shopping center, which minimizes noise, dust and environmental impact. The project quickly gained popularity in social networks and has already received favorable reviews from local residents. This is reported by Oddity Central.
The 50-meter-high dome completely covers the construction site with an area of 20,000 square meters. It is located in the center of the city – close to schools, residential buildings and historical buildings. According to engineers, thanks to this design, it is possible to reduce the noise level by up to 80%, and the amount of dust – up to 90%. In addition, it protects against rain, wind and snow, which allows you to work in any weather.
The dome has no internal columns or supports, creating an open space for large machinery to operate. This is important in the initial stages of large-scale construction. The residents of Jinan have already noticed the effect — the surrounding neighborhoods have become quieter and cleaner.
“Before, we could hear a constant roar, now we hardly notice that construction is going on outside the windows,” says local resident Liu Yunming. He is supported by another resident, Chen Shuqing, who stressed that when the dome is removed, a ready-made shopping center will immediately appear in its place – “it gives a very modern impression.”
The Jinan city government said the eco-dome is part of a “quiet construction site” strategy. Similar structures are planned to be used in future projects, in particular, during the reconstruction of historical districts.
After the completion of construction, the dome will be completely dismantled. And although the design evokes associations with futurism, its main purpose is to protect citizens from inconvenience and make the urban space more comfortable for life.
