In Great Britain, the first AI-candidate for deputies was created
British businessman Steve Endacott presented to the world the first candidate for parliament created by artificial intelligence.
This was reported by the publication The Independent.
It is said that this digital doppelganger of Endacott, also named Steve, will voice the political platform determined by the voters through a special platform. The businessman, disillusioned with traditional politics after the Conservative Party refused to support his candidacy, sees this project as an opportunity to involve young people in the political process and renew the outdated system.
AI Steve will answer voter questions using Endacott’s voice and avatar created by Neural Voice. If he wins the election, Endacott will physically vote in Parliament according to the decisions made by voters through his digital doppelganger.
The project caused a mixed reaction. Some believe that AI cannot be allowed into power due to its inability to understand human problems and needs. Others see this as a chance to renew the political system and involve new technologies in solving social problems.
The candidate said that his newly formed party “Smarter Great Britain” was not registered to participate in the extraordinary parliamentary elections due to a technical error of the election commission, so he is running as an independent candidate. Along with this, he hopes that many more AI bots will join his party in the future.
