Baerbock and Habeck called for unlocking €3 billion to help Ukraine

Ministers of the German government and representatives of the “Soyuz 90/Greens” party, Annalena Burbok and Robert Habek, spoke in support of Ukraine, calling for the release of three billion euros of aid for its defense as soon as possible. It is reported tagesschau.de.
Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Economy Robert Habek stated the need for urgent adoption of this decision, stressing that support to Ukraine should be as prompt as possible. In his post on the X social network, he emphasized that short-term action is critical to ensuring security.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Berbok, also emphasized the need for financial support, calling on European leaders to decide on providing Ukraine with a comprehensive aid package at the upcoming summit. She emphasized that Germany should play a leading role in European security, especially in conditions where relations between the US and Ukraine have become more complicated.
Burbok stressed that it is necessary to act immediately both at the European and national levels, because the situation is critical. She called for the cooperation of all the democratic forces of the country, as well as the current government, which is working in the transition period after the early elections held on February 23. The minister said that the world is entering a “new era of lawlessness”, and that is why Europeans must stand firmly in defense of international law.
Expressing a clear position regarding support for Ukraine, Berbok noted that Germany remains on the side of a sovereign and independent state. She reminded that the enemy is the Kremlin, not Kyiv or Brussels, and emphasized the inadmissibility of changing the roles of the criminal and the victim in the war.
