China called Trump’s policy a return to the “law of the jungle”

China has sharply criticized US President Donald Trump’s foreign policy, saying it is returning the world to the principle of “law of the jungle” and undermining the international order. About this informs CNN.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi strongly criticized Washington’s course, noting that the revival of the “America First” approach could destabilize international relations. At a press conference in Beijing, the diplomat emphasized that if each country acts exclusively in its own interests, it will endanger international norms and cause chaos in the world.

“Over 190 countries in the world”, – emphasized Wang Yi, noting that if states rely only on strength and selfishness, weaker countries will be the first to suffer.

In his opinion, this can seriously shake the global order. The statement came amid changes in US foreign policy under Trump’s leadership, while Beijing tries to position itself as a stable international partner and supporter of maintaining the world order.

“A great country must abide by international obligations and not put selfish interests above principles.” Wang said, adding that China strongly opposes the politics of power and hegemony.
