Bill Gates plans to spend 99% of his fortune on charity.

Businessman, billionaire and founder of Microsoft Bill Gates stated, who “doesn’t want to die rich” and plans to donate 99% of his wealth to charity. More than 100 billion dollars will be directed to the Gates Foundation, which will use these funds for 20 years to improve and preserve people’s lives.

“People will say a lot about me when I die, but I’m determined that the words ‘he died rich’ will not be heard. I have too many pressing problems to solve to keep resources that could be used to help people.”Gates said.

He explained that this was the reason for his decision to return funds to society much faster. According to him, the Fund will cease its activities immediately after distributing all the planned funds – more than 100 billion dollars. The end of the organization’s work is scheduled for December 31, 2045. Gates and his ex-wife, Melinda, had previously planned for the foundation to exist for several decades after their deaths, but later revised those intentions.

“I hope that by accelerating our donations, we can put the world on the path to ending avoidable maternal and infant deaths and lifting millions of people out of poverty.” Gates emphasized.

He noted that over 25 years of activity, the Gates Foundation has already attracted more than $100 billion. The fund’s total budget, together with Gates’ personal wealth, exceeds $200 billion. The decision to donate most of his assets to charity was made by Gates against the backdrop of cuts in funding for global health care by leading countries, including the United States, Great Britain and France.
