UNHCR decides to increase funding for frontline support project

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is increasing the funding of the program to support the frontline territories of Ukraine to 40.6 million dollars. About this reported Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.

“UNHCR allocates an additional 3.6 million dollars to finance the program of cash assistance to certain categories of the population to prepare for the winter period. This is the second increase in the budget of the program by an international donor. Previously, its total budget was increased from 30 million to 37 million dollars, which made it possible reach approximately 71,000 households”, – the message reads.

Given the large number of applications from families in difficult circumstances, UNHCR has decided to increase funding to $40.6 million. Thanks to this, another 7,000 households in the frontline areas will be able to receive the necessary support.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk expressed her gratitude to international donors for their contribution to helping Ukrainians in the 2024-2025 heating season.

“I sincerely thank UNHCR for the professional and humane approach to the case. Thanks to the additional funding, we will be able to reach even more households in need of support this winter.”, — noted Vereshchuk.
