FBI warns of danger for American iPhone and Android users

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation urged users to more actively use text message encryption due to large-scale attacks by Chinese hackers on popular messengers. About this informs USA Today.
The FBI, along with the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Agency (CISA), released a statement announcing hacking attacks carried out by groups linked to China. These attacks target telecommunications infrastructure as part of a major cyber espionage campaign.
According to the statement, mainly officials and politicians were hit. The attackers gained access to phone call data and some information that was the subject of requests by US law enforcement agencies. Despite a joint investigation by the FBI and CISA, the hackers have still not been stopped.
In response to cyberattacks, authorities are urging smartphone owners to use encryption to protect their communications. Messages between Apple or Android devices are secure, but exchanges between devices with different operating systems, such as between Apple and Android, are vulnerable to hacking. To prevent risks, step-by-step instructions are offered for setting up encryption to ensure correspondence security.
