Zelenskyy will come to Trump’s inauguration only after an invitation

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that he is ready to attend the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, if he receives an official invitation. That’s what he’s about told in an interview with American podcaster Lex Friedman.

“I would like to come (to the inauguration – ed.), but of course I will watch what will happen here… But I cannot come, especially during the war, if President Trump does not directly invite me. It’s just ugly”, – noted Zelensky.

He also added that usually leaders of other countries are not invited to the inauguration of US presidents.

“There are leaders who can come themselves – they will and will come. It is very difficult for me. I can’t visit without an invitation. Putin – we did not invite him, but he came to us. And I can’t do that”, – explained the head of the Ukrainian state.

Zelensky also noted that his possible visit would require significant security measures from the US, although he did not want to create any inconvenience.

“I don’t want to bother anyone or create problems. So if Trump invites me, I will come”, – emphasized the president.

We will remind that the inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump for the post of the President of the USA is scheduled for January 20.
