Gold prices hit all-time high amid Ukraine talks

Gold prices hit an all-time high as investors closely monitor the progress of negotiations between the United States and Russia to settle the war in Ukraine. About this informs Reuters.

Spot gold rose 0.28% to hit a record high of $2,943.69 per troy ounce.

“Gold’s bullish potential is still limited — the first round of talks between the US and Russia on a potential peace deal with Ukraine ended without a clear solution, but if they present a solid plan, it could certainly have a negative impact on gold.” – noted the analyst of “Kedia Commodities” Adjei Kedia.

Currently, the market is waiting for the publication of the minutes of the January meeting of the Federal Reserve, which should take place on Wednesday evening. Against this backdrop, palladium was steady at $986.72 an ounce, silver rose 0.29% to $32.96 an ounce, while platinum fell 0.71% to $980.4 an ounce.
