HACC sentenced ex-MP Kormyshkina and her husband in the case of illegal enrichment

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine announced the verdict in the case of illegal enrichment of 20 million hryvnias of the former People’s Deputy Iryna Kormyshkina and her husband. About this informs SAP press office.

Kormyshkina was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in part. 2 Art. 366-2 and ch. 1 Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and her husband – according to ch. 2 Art. 209 and ch. 2 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

She was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment with a fine of 68 thousand hryvnias and deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the performance of functions of the state or local self-government for a period of 2 years. The husband of the ex-deputy received a similar punishment.

“At the same time, on the basis of Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the court released the specified persons from serving the main sentence of imprisonment with probation, setting a probationary period of 2 years. The former People’s Deputy also undertakes to transfer UAH 20 million to the state budget. In addition, the accused must transfer UAH 2 million to the needs of the Armed Forces.” – says the message.

The verdict can be challenged in an appeal procedure within 30 days from the day of its announcement by submitting a complaint to the Appeals Chamber of the VAX.

We will remind that in October 2024 NABU and SAP announced that the people’s deputy was suspected of illegal enrichment. According to the investigation, in 2021-2022, she acquired assets, the value of which exceeds her official income and savings for this period by more than 20 million hryvnias.

The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office reported that VACS chose a preventive measure for Kormyshkina in the form of a personal guarantee. The guarantors were the head of the “Servant of the People” faction, David Arakhamiya, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaly Kim.
