In France, a man organized a wedding ceremony at Disneyland with a 9-year-old Ukrainian girl

In Paris Disneyland, the police broke up the ceremony that a 22-year-old man tried to hold with a 9-year-old girl from Ukraine. The event, which was advertised as a wedding, aroused the suspicion of the park administration, after which the police were called. The incident, which took place on June 21, attracted the attention of French prosecutors and led to the arrest of four people.

For message edition of Le Parisien, the man planned to rent part of the Disneyland grounds for a whole day for the celebration. About a hundred guests were invited to the event. However, when the girl arrived at the site of the ceremony, the park employees realized that she was a child and immediately informed the law enforcement authorities. After the intervention of the police, the event was canceled.

Four people were detained in the case: the “groom” himself, who, according to preliminary data, is a citizen of Great Britain; the child’s mother is a 41-year-old Ukrainian woman; as well as two citizens of Latvia aged 55 and 24.

The organizer of the ceremony stated that he did not plan a real wedding, and the event was supposed to be a production for filming a movie. He introduced himself as the director of a production company. The French prosecutor’s office reported that the girl was not a victim of violence or coercion, and also confirmed that the guests were mainly of the mass population.

Despite these explanations, the police extended the term of detention for the groom and one of the Latvian women. Both have been charged with fraud and money laundering. The prosecutor’s office emphasizes that the circumstances remain incompletely clarified, and many witnesses — including park employees — did not even suspect that they had become participants in a staged event.
