In Ukraine, there are more women ready to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Ministry of Defense
The share of women among the candidates for the Armed Forces who apply to the recruiting centers of the Ukrainian army has increased to 21%. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Women show the greatest interest in the positions of UAV operators, drivers and gunners. The most active appeals come from Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions, the department noted.
42,300 people applied to the recruiting centers during their operation, including 1,064 people during the last week. The first recruiting center, where candidates receive consultations and support, was opened on February 12, 2024 in Lviv. Currently, 48 such centers are operating in Ukraine.
We will remind you that in June 2024, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Nataliya Kalmykova stated that women often choose the wrong professions “which are considered feminine by default.” For this reason, there are problems with the promotion of women in the Armed Forces.
