The Verkhovna Rada will demand the dismissal of the leadership of the TCC in Zhytomyr Oblast, in which a conscript died

People’s deputy Yuliya Yatsyk performed with the demand to change the leadership of the Zvyagel temporary camp for joint stay and special assignment after the tragic death of 32-year-old conscript Serhiy Kovalchuk.
The People’s Deputy announced this decision after a meeting of the parliamentary Temporary Investigative Commission, which is examining the circumstances of the incident that occurred in the Zvyagel district of the Zhytomyr region.
Serhii Kovalchuk died in a temporary camp, the incident is attributed to multiple craniocerebral injuries with displacement of the bones of the skull. This became the reason for Yulia Yatsyk to express serious criticism of the camp management, which, according to her, failed to cope with its responsibilities and did not provide adequate security for servicemen.
“We will demand from the Commander-in-Chief and the command of the Ground Forces to change the management of this camp, since this manager did not ensure the organization of the work of his team within the framework of the law“, Yuliya Yatsyk emphasized.
During the meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission, representatives of the camp stated that the deceased was in a state of alcohol intoxication at the time of detention, but this version was contradicted by the results of a narcological examination, which showed the absence of alcohol in the blood. The commission also rejected information about the presence of epilepsy in the deceased, which, according to relatives of the deceased and medical documents, was not.
“The death certificate clearly stated that the cause of death was multiple traumatic brain injuries with displacement of the bones of the skull, and this was the immediate cause of his death. He had no evidence or confirmation of his epilepsy from doctors or relatives“, Yuliya Yatsyk added.
The deputy also reported that the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is conducting an official inspection of the circumstances of the death and the operation of the camp. At the same time, the National Police launched a criminal investigation, and as part of it, a comprehensive forensic examination was ordered to determine the exact cause of the conscript’s death.
