Iran launched over 100 drones at Israel after attack on Tehran’s nuclear facilities

Iran has launched more than 100 drones over Israeli territory in the past few hours. This happened in response to strikes on Tehran’s nuclear facilities. This was stated by the representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Effie Defrin, informs Times Of Israel.

According to Defrin, the IDF is working to bring them down.

It will be recalled that on June 13, Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran. The targets of the attacks were nuclear facilities, factories for the production of ballistic missiles and command posts of the military. Israel announced that this was the beginning of a long operation to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the death of its commander-in-chief, Hossein Salami. State media also reported on the attack on the unit’s headquarters in Tehran. At least two nuclear scientists, Fereydoun Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, were killed in Israeli strikes on Tehran.

“We are living through a decisive moment in the history of Israel,” said Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to him, Israel launched Operation Eastern Lion, a targeted military campaign to eliminate the Iranian threat to the very existence of Israel. The operation will last as long as it takes to eliminate this threat.

An Israeli military official stressed that “dozens” of nuclear and military facilities were being struck, including the Natang facility in central Iran. According to him, Iran has enough material to make 15 nuclear bombs within a few days. The United States has said it was not involved in the operation, raising the risk of further escalation of tensions in the Middle East, an important oil-producing region.

At the same time as the large-scale airstrikes, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad conducted a series of covert sabotage operations on the territory of Iran, reports Axios with reference to a high-ranking Israeli official. These operations were aimed at defeating Iran’s strategic missile facilities and its air defense systems.
