President of Moldova Maya Sandu confirmed, that on December 25 a Russian cruise missile violated the country’s airspace. The incident took place during another large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
“While our countries celebrate Christmas, the Kremlin chooses destruction – it targets the energy infrastructure of Ukraine and violates the airspace of Moldova with a missile. These are actions that clearly violate international law. Moldova condemns these actions and fully stands in solidarity with Ukraine.”, said Sandu.
We will remind that on December 25, Russia carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine, releasing, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, more than 70 missiles and 100 drones. A significant part of the strikes was aimed at the energy infrastructure of the country.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that one of the cruise missiles passed through the airspace of Moldova, heading towards Chernivtsi. Also, the Polish Air Force activated combat aircraft and air defense systems due to the massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine.
