Japan has transferred special equipment and is training DSES specialists to work with mechanized demining machines

Japan actively supports Ukraine in the issue of demining, providing not only modern equipment, but also training for specialists of the State Emergency Service (ESS). Currently, Ukrainian specialists are learning to work with mechanized demining machines on the basis of leading Japanese companies, such as NIKKEN, as well as at the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CAM).

Training takes place in two stages: first, specialists acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills directly at manufacturing enterprises, and then apply them in practice in conditions close to real ones, based on the center in Cambodia. About this reported Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In addition to training, Japan transferred a significant amount of specialized equipment for demining to Ukraine. As part of this assistance, 22 mechanized demining machines have already been delivered, of which 6 have already arrived in Ukraine. In total, Japan provided Ukraine with 101 units of equipment, which include Toyota Kohkidosha and Mitsubishi Type 73 Kogata SUVs, as well as Morooka tracked vehicles.

This support is critically important, as it not only increases the efficiency of demining operations, but also helps protect the lives of Ukrainian pyrotechnicians who face danger every day at their workplaces. The equipment provided by Japan is already demonstrating its effectiveness, and the training of specialists allows these machines to be used at full capacity, which significantly speeds up the process of demining territories affected by military operations.

This cooperation between Ukraine and Japan is another example of international solidarity and support, which helps Ukraine fight the consequences of the war and ensure security on its territory. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine expresses its gratitude to Japan for its significant contribution to the fight against the mine threat and hopes for further cooperation in this direction.
