Judge overturns seizure of UAH 2.6bn from Russian-linked online casino, which had already been transferred to support the Armed Forces

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv canceled the seizure of 2.6 billion hryvnias previously seized from the online casino Pin-Up, which is connected to representatives of Russia. In response, the Agency for Investigation and Management of Assets (ARMA) appealed to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) with a demand to impose a new arrest. About the situation reported Head of ARMA Olena Duma.

She noted that the judge of Pechersk Court, Svitlana Smyk, promptly conducted the meeting and immediately issued a decision to lift the arrest for a significant amount.

Day to day it never happens. Here – you need to think. The court’s cynical position. I am convinced that this does not happen just like that“, Duma stressed.

The head of ARMA also noted that the court’s decision violates current legislative norms and Cabinet Resolution No. 187, which introduced a moratorium on the return of funds related to the Russian Federation. According to her, Pin-Up’s lawyers arrived at the ARMA office half an hour after the court decision with a demand to return 2.6 billion hryvnias.

ARMA, together with the DBR, previously confiscated these funds from Pin-Up and directed them to purchase military bonds to support the Armed Forces. The Duma assured that not a single hryvnia transferred to the needs of the army will return to the company with Russian connections. She added that Ukraine’s international partners are closely monitoring this case, which only confirms the need to reform the judicial system.
