The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution that allows the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) to use state budget funds to pay for the delivery of goods from abroad that accompany the execution of defense contracts. About this reported in the Ministry of Defense.
The changes were made at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense. From now on, the Defense Procurement Agency will be able to finance from the budget customs payments, transport and forwarding, logistics, brokerage and agency services, as well as commission costs and expenses related to the opening and maintenance of accounts in foreign banks.
“Today, AOZ has 30 contracts with foreign manufacturers, which are being fulfilled, from 13 countries of the world. The resolution will make it possible to implement international projects for the purchase of ammunition and weapons abroad from global manufacturers and to ensure their logistics on the territory of the EU.” – explained the director of the procurement policy department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Hleb Kanevskyi.
The head of the Defense Procurement Agency, Arsen Zhumadilov, noted that due to war risks, foreign manufacturers do not always agree to deliver products to Ukraine on their own. In the past, in such cases, the AOZ did not have an effective tool for organizing transportation. With the adoption of new decisions, the situation changes. The government’s decision makes it possible to reduce the number of contracts with intermediaries when concluding contracts directly with manufacturers.
