NAKC announced the creation of a separate unit to check the declarations of employees of the special services
National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption announced on the creation of a new unit that will specialize in financial control of special categories of declarants, such as employees of intelligence agencies and persons holding positions related to state secrets.
It is noted that this decision was made on the basis of the recommendations of an external independent assessment of the Agency’s activities and is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of lifestyle monitoring, conducting full checks of declarations and monitoring their timely submission.
Previously, these functions were performed by the internal control unit of the NAKC. In addition to the creation of the new department, the agency also separated the internal control and corruption prevention functions, creating a separate anti-corruption sector. This sector will deal with the assessment of corruption risks in the activities of the NACP and the development of measures to eliminate them, as well as coordinate the implementation of the anti-corruption program.
