Veterans and their families will receive UAH 21 million in grants from the state for business development

According to the results of the fifth wave of applications, which took place in 2024, 47 winners of the veteran component of the “Own business” program were determined. Through grants, the state invests 21 million hryvnias in the start and development of their business. About it on April 7 reported in the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

Among the winners are 27 combatants and 20 members of veterans’ families. In particular, 37 participants received a grant of up to 500,000 hryvnias, and 10 – up to 250,000 hryvnias.

The most popular areas in which grant recipients plan to develop their business are:

  • wholesale and retail trade;
  • Agriculture;
  • food organization;
  • temporary accommodation;
  • processing industry, etc.

“When receiving a grant from UAH 500,000 to UAH 1 million, a veteran must be registered as a non-profit organization for at least 3 years. Such a grant is provided under the condition of co-financing with the recipient in the ratio of 70/30. That is, the recipient of the grant must invest 30% of his own funds in his business funds, and 70% of the funds will be provided by the state in the form of a grant,” – emphasized the Ministry of Reintegration.

According to the terms of the program, combatants or persons with disabilities as a result of war, as well as their second spouse, can receive the following grants:

  • up to 250,000 UAH, up to 500,000 UAH and up to 1 million UAH – for a veteran on the condition of creating one, two and four jobs, respectively;
  • up to UAH 250,000 and up to UAH 500,000 – for the second spouse of a veteran, provided one and two jobs are created, respectively.
