During the meeting of the Mine Action Coalition in Vilnius, international partners confirmed their intention to allocate 700 million euros for the purchase of equipment for Ukraine. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
These funds are planned to be allocated until 2034, while in 2025 the budget will amount to 130 million euros.
“During the last quarter of last year, material and technical means were purchased in the amount of 16.1 million euros. As of February, the Central Project Management Agency (SRMA, Republic of Lithuania) has already accumulated 51 million euros”, – noted the head of the Main Department of mine countermeasures of the Ministry of Defense, Ruslan Beregulya.
According to him, international partners have shown interest in the Ukrainian experience of waging war, and together with Lithuania, working groups will be created to study modern methods, in particular, the use of UAVs and artificial intelligence in the demining process.
