Police mobilisation: how many law enforcement officers are involved in the war

The National Police of Ukraine employs about 70-75,000 men who meet the criteria for mobilisation. Of these, 15,000 are directly involved in combat missions, as Oleksandr Fatsevych, Deputy Head of the National Police, told the telethon.

He explained that all certified police officers have a deferral from mobilisation, but are actively involved in combat missions. The National Police has created special units to protect the country from Russian aggression, and more than 15,000 police officers are currently involved in protecting the state border.

We have formed special units to support the State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, we are performing tasks in one of the most difficult areas of the frontline – the ‘Luty’ brigade, which works together with the ‘Khyzhak’ brigade and the newly created rifle unit of our KORD. They operate in the Toretsk direction,’ added Fatsevych.

In addition, rifle battalions have been set up in each regional police department, some of which have already completed their training. Fatsevych stressed the importance of police work in evacuating the population, protecting strategic facilities, documenting the crimes of the Russian occupiers and ensuring public safety.

We would also like to remind you that Ukrainian citizens can now contact the hotline to file complaints about the work of the TCC and receive advice on their rights and obligations during mobilisation. Over the past week, the hotline received 258 calls, most of which were resolved over the phone.
