Russian Tyumen Refinery Under Attack by Long-Range Drones
The Russian authorities have said that on the afternoon of June 20, drones attempted to attack an oil refinery in Tyumen. This was reported by the governor of the Tyumen region of Russia, Alexander Moor.
According to him, Russian air defense allegedly repelled the attack by a drone on the Tyumen refinery. The official claims that there is no damage to the plant.
“Emergency services specialists are working at the site of the debris. According to preliminary information, the plant was not damaged, employees have been evacuated. I am personally monitoring the situation,” Moor added.
At the same time, the Russian Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents, reported that at least two explosions were heard in the Antipino neighborhood of Tyumen, where the plant is located. Eyewitnesses also allegedly saw at least 10 fire engines heading towards the refinery.
Tyumen region is located almost two thousand kilometers from the front line in Ukraine. The design capacity of the Tyumen refinery is from 7.5 to 9 million tons of crude oil per year.
