“Servant of the people” Bakumov was appointed head of the TSC on fortifications
The Verkhovna Rada decided to appoint the “servant of the people” Oleksandr Bakumov as the head of the Temporary Investigative Commission (TCC) on fortifications and the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About this reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The replacement took place after the previous head of TSK, Mykola Zadorozhnyi, faced suspicions in a case investigated by NABU.
“A little more than a month after Zadorozhnyi was suspected, the Rada decided to replace him with Oleksandr Bakumov from Kharkiv”Zheleznyak noted.
282 deputies voted for the resolution.
We will remind you that the Parliamentary Committee on Fortifications and Drones was created on May 22 this year. This happened after deputies from two factions blocked the rostrum, demanding that the issue be put to a vote.
The case of Mykola Zadoroznyi
Mykola Zadorozhnyi is suspected of extorting 14% of the amount of funds allocated for the repair of a water main in the Okhtyr district of the Sumy region. According to the version of the investigation, 10% was to be assigned to him personally, and 4% to local law enforcement officers, who were not to obstruct the use of the allocated funds. We are talking about the amount of UAH 3.4 million.
Zadorozhnyi’s actions were qualified under part 4 of Art. 368 and Part 3 of Art. 27 part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was informed of the suspicion. He, however, denies any wrongdoing, saying he did not receive or solicit any funds or improper advantage.
Subsequently, Zadorozhny was expelled from the “Servant of the People” party. On July 17, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HCAC) imposed a preventive measure on him in the amount of UAH 3,028,000 with the imposition of relevant procedural obligations.
