Trump promised to cause big problems for gas station owners if they refuse to lower gasoline prices

US President Donald Trump has urged gasoline retailers to immediately lower their prices. He said that fuel prices remain too high amid falling oil prices.

Trump wrote about this on his social network Truth Social. According to him, retailers should quickly respond to the market situation and reduce prices for consumers in the United States.

“Gasoline retailers need to lower their prices, IMMEDIATELY! They are too high considering that oil is now $68 per barrel and it continues to fall,” Donald Trump said.

The US President also threatened gasoline retailers with “big problems” if they do not review their prices. He called the overpricing of fuel “absolutely illegal.”

Separately, Trump called for targeting a level of about $2.50 per gallon. He also criticized California for its high gas taxes and said the U.S. “will not tolerate this.”

The statement came as oil prices fell about 1% after rising in the previous session. Investors are watching for possible U.S.-Iran talks in Doha and the situation surrounding a ceasefire after a four-month war.
