Sibiga held the first talks with Blinken, Burbok and the head of the Romanian Foreign Ministry

The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, held a number of important telephone conversations with key international partners, including US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, and Romanian Foreign Minister Luminica Odobescu. This is reported by “European Truth”.
Sybiga emphasized that he and Blinken discussed ways to speed up the provision of military aid to Ukraine, and also discussed the Ukrainian “peace formula” and the issue of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.
“I look forward to our close cooperation to protect the democratic values we share”, – wrote Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The US State Department confirmed that Blinken congratulated Sybig on his appointment and emphasized the strength of the partnership between the US and Ukraine. Further diplomatic steps and a joint calendar were also discussed in the conversation.
During the conversation with Annalena Burbok, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry thanked for the significant support from Germany and coordinated positions before the opening of the UN General Assembly. Burbok also congratulated Sybiga in her tweet, assuring that Ukraine can count on further support.
With his Romanian colleague Luminicea Odobescu, Sybiga discussed possibilities for deepening bilateral relations between Ukraine and Romania. He expressed gratitude for Bucharest’s decision to transfer the Patriot system to Ukraine.
We will remind that on September 5, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Andrii Sybiga as Minister of Foreign Affairs, replacing Dmytro Kuleba. His first conversation after his appointment was with his Polish colleague Radosław Sikorski, and during the day Sibiga also held talks with a number of European diplomats.
