SpaceX’s Starship rocket exploded eight minutes after launch

SpaceX’s Starship rocket failed eight minutes after launch from South Texas. Before that, it was possible to safely return the “Super Heavy” launch pad to the launch pad. About this informs DW.

The incident occurred during another flight test. As a result, the Starship rocket disintegrated in space shortly after takeoff. The mission involved launching mock-up satellites into orbit, but the flight took place without a crew. Eight minutes after launch, the Flight Control Center lost contact with the upgraded spacecraft.

“Success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed” – CEO of SpaceX Elon Musk commented on the situation.

The incident caused delays and diversions of dozens of commercial flights. In particular, this applies to departures from Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports, which were delayed by 45 minutes. The Federal Civil Aviation Administration has temporarily adjusted the routes of planes in areas of possible debris fall. After the risk was eliminated, air traffic was restored to normal.
