Taiwan reports more than 40 Chinese warplanes approaching the island

Taiwan’s military recorded the maneuvers of 41 Chinese warplanes and 10 ships of the Navy and Coast Guard near the island. About this reported Ministry of Defense of Taiwan.

28 Chinese aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, which unofficially demarcates mainland China and the island, and entered Taiwan’s northern, central and southwestern air defense zones. At the same time, they did not violate the airspace of the island, so the Taiwanese military only monitored their activity.

China regularly sends warplanes and ships to Taiwan, rehearsing the elements of possible military operations, including air and sea attacks and a blockade. Beijing considers Taiwan its province and does not rule out the use of force for its “reunification”, although the island has never been part of the PRC and has had its own administration since 1949.

It will be recalled that earlier Taiwan accused the Chinese authorities of putting pressure on the government of South Africa with the demand to move the Taipei office, the de facto embassy of the island, from the country’s capital, Pretoria.
