The court sent former Kyiv City Council Secretary Bondarenko under 24-hour house arrest for 2 months

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for the former secretary of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Bondarenko, who is suspected of official negligence and facilitating evasion of military service. He was sentenced to 24-hour house arrest. About this reported Iryna Vynokurova, press secretary of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
“The Pechersk District Court of the capital chose a preventive measure in the form of 24-hour house arrest for the former secretary of the Kyiv City Council until September 9”, – noted Vynokurova.
We will remind, on July 10, Bondarenko was charged with facilitating the evasion of military service and embezzlement of over 690,000 hryvnias. It is, in particular, about the unjustified calculation of wages to one of the employees of the city council and assistance in avoiding military service.
It was established that during 2022-2023, Volodymyr Bondarenka illegally charged the salary of the head of affairs of the Kyiv City Council, who, together with other deputies, was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the suspect knew for sure that this person was doing military service. As a result of the actions of the former deputy mayor, the state suffered losses of more than 690 thousand hryvnias.
In addition, the former secretary of the city council sent a letter to the Kyiv city military-civilian administration with a request to send a mobilized employee to work in the Kyiv city council, despite the fact that there are no positions that can be filled by military personnel. As a result, he actually avoided military service — he did not arrive at the military unit and did not perform any tasks related to the defense of Ukraine.
