On February 6, the first French Mirage 2000-5F aircraft arrived in Ukraine. About this reported Minister of Defense of France Sebastien Lecornu.
“On June 6, 2024, Emmanuel Macron announced the delivery of French Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine. The first of them arrived in Ukraine today”, – says the message.
The Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets were retired from the French Air Force and upgraded to perform more complex tasks. Ukraine should receive about ten such aircraft. French specialists have adapted the Mirage 2000-5F to use SCALP-EG cruise missiles, the British counterpart of which is known as “Storm Shadow”.
Developed by Dassault Aviation, this combat aircraft will become the second Western fighter in the Air Force after the arrival of the American F-16 in 2024. In addition, the Mirage 2000-5F will be the first European fighter that Ukraine will receive for its air fleet.
