Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists that the US military be among the peacekeeping forces in Ukraine
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasized that in case of deployment of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, its composition should include the military of the United States. He voiced this position during the World Economic Forum in Davos, informs Bloomberg.
“They won’t spend their time relaxing. This is very important, because I heard some allies say, yes, it’s okay, we can be in the center of some city. No, no, we don’t need that kind of contingent.” – emphasized Zelensky.
The President noted that peacekeepers should be on the front line together with the Ukrainian military, because this is what guarantees security. At the same time, he noted that such a mission is impossible without the participation of the United States.
“It will not succeed without the USA. I will explain why. Even if some European friends think it is possible – no, it is impossible. First of all, no one will take risks without the USA. Second: it can divide NATO, divide the USA and the European Union. This is a dream Putin, split this union.” – added Zelensky.
