The first specialized anti-drone tunnel was built in the Zaporizhzhia region, which is designed to protect both civilian and military transport from attacks by enemy FPV drones. About this during the briefing reported Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration.
The protective structure was completed on one of the most dangerous logistical routes — the route in the direction of Orichov.
“We built the first anti-drone road on the Orihiv highway – its length is 6.5 kilometers. This is just the beginning. We have an ambitious plan – more than 200 kilometers of protected roads within the region. In the coming days, I plan to meet with the Minister of Defense to synchronize actions and speed up the implementation of this project.”– said Fedorov.
The construction of the tunnels is financed from the funds of the Joint Defense Fund. All necessary materials have been purchased — from metal structures and nets to consumable components. Military personnel of the Zaporozhye brigade were involved in the implementation of the project, who shared their combat experience, which became the basis of the engineering solution.
The anti-drone tunnel ensures safer movement of personnel and equipment, as well as the evacuation of the wounded. For the civilian population, it reduces the risks of movement in the frontline areas.
