The Russians could kill a captured Ukrainian with a sword: the Ombudsman appealed to the international community

The Russian occupiers probably executed the Ukrainian prisoner of war with a sword, his hands were tied with tape. About this incident reported Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, in his Telegram channel.
“Another war crime – photos appeared on social networks showing how the Russians probably executed an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war with a sword, his hands bound with tape”, – the Ombudsman wrote.
He emphasized that such actions of the Russians are a gross violation of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
The ombudsman also announced that he has sent an appeal to international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN, with the aim of recording yet another violation of human rights by Russia.
“Such show executions are aimed at demoralizing Ukrainian society. However, seeing such actions, we must become even more determined in the fight against the aggressor.” – emphasized the official.
We will remind you that earlier the Ombudsman already appealed to the UN and the ICRC because of the alleged shooting of a Ukrainian prisoner by the Russian occupiers. Also, the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office has started an investigation into another war crime committed by Russian troops in the Toretsk area. According to preliminary data, three Ukrainian servicemen were shot in the back after being captured.
