The information about the termination of military aid from Germany is incorrect and manipulative: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Information about the termination of military aid from Germany is incorrect and manipulative. The current level of support for Ukraine for the next year will be determined only after the approval of the budget, which is expected in November. About this reported the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tyhiy.
“Reports that Germany is allegedly suspending military aid to Ukraine do not correspond to reality. This is the same manipulation as previous statements about the alleged halving of aid for the next year.” Tykhy said.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the budget formation process is ongoing in Germany, which Ukraine is closely monitoring. He noted that the budget will be approved in November, and only then will it be known what the level of support for Ukraine will be next year.
“At the moment, as before, the German government has included a certain amount of aid to Ukraine in the draft budget. It corresponds to the amount that was planned at this stage of the budget process last year. Then this amount increased at the parliamentary stage of adopting the budget in the fall.” Tykhy added.
He assured that the Ukrainian side continues to cooperate with German partners to maintain and strengthen support for Ukraine. The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that every euro invested in the defense capability of Ukraine is a contribution to the security of the whole of Europe against the background of Russian aggression.
He also noted that Ukraine is grateful to Germany for its leadership among European countries in supporting Ukraine, adding that German aid has already saved thousands of lives in Ukraine and is of strategic importance for further protection of life.
“We hope that the German government will find the possibility of additional funding for the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine this year as well,” Tykhy stressed.
It will be recalled that on July 17, the Bild newspaper reported that Germany was suspending military aid to Ukraine at the initiative of Finance Minister Christian Lindner. According to the publication, Chancellor Olaf Scholz no longer approves new applications for financing military support for Ukraine due to the lack of additional funds in the current budget planning. The SPD representative, Andreas Schwartz, also confirmed that new orders for military support to Ukraine are currently not being issued due to a lack of funding.
