The Ministry of Defense is radically changing the approach to providing military personnel with housing
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is introducing a radically new approach to providing housing for servicemen and their family members. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The Main Department of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Education and Culture has prepared a project of the Concept of providing housing for military personnel, veterans of the military service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations and their family members. The document has already passed internal approval and has been submitted to the central executive authorities for consideration. Currently, its public discussion is ongoing.
“We strive to create a transparent and effective system that will take into account the needs of various categories of military personnel, and first and foremost – participants in hostilities, families of the dead, seriously wounded, and those released from military service.” – noted Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
At the same time, preparations for the introduction of a digital apartment accounting system for military personnel are being completed. This should make processes more transparent, more efficient and strengthen control over the use of housing stock.
“As part of this work, the Algorithm for excluding official housing from the relevant fund of the Ministry of Defense was also developed and approved. This will allow thousands of military families who currently live in service housing to receive the right to permanent residence there.”, – added the deputy minister.
